Hoist Operator I
The Port of Port Townsend is seeking one (1) qualified candidate for this position. The Hoist Operator I reports to the Operations Manager, and is led by the Yard Lead. They are part of the team driving all yard travel lift equipment and machines; planning, picking up, hauling, tarping, and blocking vessels; wash downs, safety and emergency service; ongoing Port customer and customer crew education, business and environmental compliance, as well as assisting in smooth boat yard operations.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, with additional training in equipment operations, maintenance and customer service desired, with a minimum of 3 years of progressively travel lift and boat yard related operations, environmental, safety and crew experience.
This is a fulltime, represented position with a starting pay range of $25.34 – $26.88 per hour (DOE/DOQ), full grade pay range goes up to $34.05 with opportunities for promotion. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, 2 weeks/year paid vacation, 96 hours/year sick leave, and 13 paid holidays/year (which includes two personal days after one full year of employment). There may be occasional over-time and/or call-out time.
