There will be a public hearing on the draft comp plan update on Monday, Nov. 17^th at 6pm in city hall chambers.

Discussion will include the first reading of the draft comp plan update.

This is a very important matter to give your voice to by attending and/or providing public comment.

Drastic changes are afoot. A review of planning commission and city staff recommended edits to the 2016 comp plan includes the entire removal of our community direction statement as well as the overarching principles. The entire introduction of the draft update is unrecognizable in comparison to the existing introduction of the 2016 plan.

These changes amount to silencing the community’s voice and disengage the implementation process which has been driven by our community’s values and vision. It also removes the city’s accountability for carrying out comp plan policy according to the community’s guiding principles.
