The Historical Society has long offered the use of recording equipment and basic training on using it for the purpose of oral histories. This is a wonderful resource and we applaud Jim Heumann for embracing this challenge and for preserving the voices of our marine trades folk, the heart and soul of this community. Thank you Jim! This blog intends to link to every interview but we recommend readers visit the site and to reach out to Jim personally.
This is Maritime Voices – I’m your host Jim Heumann. In this interview I will be speaking with Diana Talley. Diana believes that she may hold the world’s record for throwing up at sea after getting pregnant on a 106- day engineless non-stop voyage from Panama to Port Townsend, in a boat without standing headroom.
