Northwest Seaport Chantey Sing
Friday, December 13, 7:00 – 9:00 pm, Seattle

  • Sing sailing songs with a free in-person and remote hybrid choir, hosted at the Center for Wooden Boats Wagner Education Center.

Seattle Christmas Ship Parade of Boats
Friday, December 13, 8:00 pm

  • Brightly decorated boats will convene in Lake Union and begin their promenade westward through the Fremont Cut. Catch the shimmery lights from aboard the Christmas Ship, join the Seattle boat parade on your own decorated vessel, or gather at the official onshore viewing party at Evanston Plaza for panoramic views of the flotilla.

Hands-on Ship Simulator
Saturday, December 14, 10:30 am – 2:30 pm, Port Townsend

  • Pilot a ship into Seattle’s Elliott Bay and experience what it’s like to drive into a storm as you don the role of captain in a state-of-the-art Ship Simulator at Northwest Maritime.

Santa’s Boatshop
Saturday, December 14, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm and Sunday, December 15, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, Gig Harbor

  • The Gig Harbor BoatShop transforms their historic Eddon Boatyard into Santa’s BoatShop for two days in December. Children are invited to build and paint model boats at this festive holiday event.

Seattle Christmas Boat Parade
Saturday, December 14, 7:00 pm, Seattle

  • A Seattle tradition, the Christmas Boat Parade on Lake Union supports Seattle Children’s Hospital and celebrates maritime traditions.

Gig Harbor Lighted Boat Parade
Saturday, December 14, 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Gig Harbor

  • The Gig Harbor Yacht Club hosts the annual lighted boat parade featuring a festive display of colorful vessels decked out in their holiday finest.

Santa’s Workshop
Thursday, December 19, 3:00 – 7:00 pm, Tacoma

  • Foss Waterway Seaport invites the whole fmaily to Santa’s Workshop to build, glue, and paint your very own wooden toy boat. All materials provided—just bring your creativity and holiday spirit. Perfect for kids and adults of all ages.

Bremerton Lighted Boat Parade
Friday, December 20 and Saturday, December 21, various times, Bremerton and Silverdale

  • Hear messages from Santa aboard a twinkling boat parade through Phinney Bay, Sinclair Inlet, Port Washington Narrows, Oyster Bay, and Dyes Inlet.

Holiday Dockside Market
Saturday, December 21, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, Bellingham

  • Buy the best in local seafood directly from the fishing families who caught it. This third annual holiday market will also have food and craft vendors, free cookies, and a performance by Bellingham Youth Jazz Band at noon.

Keep it Simple Seafood Cooking Demo
Saturday, December 21, 12:00 – 1:00 pm, Bellingham

  • Learn how to prepare simple seafood meals on the 3rd Saturday of each month with “Keep It Simple Seafood” cooking demos from Bellingham SeaFeast at Bellingham Dockside Market.

Tacoma Lighted Boat Parade

  • Use your imagination, and decorate your boat for this festive night on the water. Boats will go along the Tacoma waterfront and down the Foss Waterway, ending at the Dock Street Marina.

Blue Drinks with the Whatcom Working Waterfront Coalition of Whatcom County
Wednesday, January 8, Blaine

  • Blue Drinks is a networking meet up for anyone interested in our waterfronts. Join your community in learning about waterfront news, stories, updates and more! There will typically be a short presentation on a waterfront topic followed by an open time to connect, learn, and share about our shores and waterfronts.

Vashon Winter Bird and Mammal Surveys
First Saturdays through April, 1:00 – 3:00 pm, Vashon Island

  • Help contribute data to the Puget Sound Seabird Survey—a long term Puget Sound wide monitoring effort—while also collecting crucial baseline data on Fern Cove’s wintering seabirds and marine mammals. Surveys last 30 minutes and happen on the first Saturday of every month from October – April.

Woodworking Classes at the Foss Waterway Seaport
Various days and times, December, Tacoma

  • Catered to a wide variety of experience levels, the Foss Waterway Seaport offers classes that teach woodworking and boatbuilding skills.

Maritime Classes at Northwest Maritime
Various days and times, December, Port Townsend

  • Classes include navigation, docking, boater safety education, tides and currents, and more.
