Student Workplace Experience program

The NWMC is looking for businesses who would like to participate in their Student Workplace Experiences program. They have found ways to manage apprenticeship hurdles to the advantage of participating businesses. Check out the FAQ’s page and contact Chrissy to learn more:

The next generation of maritime workers is out there and looking to get started on the pathway to a career. The Northwest Maritime Center is looking for businesses who are willing to mentor students for 45 hours in a variety of work. These students are currently participating in our career prep programs including Port Townsend Maritime Academy and Maritime Career Immersion. Students are paid by NWM for their hours and a small mentor stipend is provided as well.  Please contact Workplace Experiences Program Manager Chrissy McLean if you might be interested chrissy@nwmaritime.org. More information about the program is in this Frequently Asked Questions document.
