Time is running out to step up for a contest to fill the District 2 and 3 Port Commission seats.

It is good to offer choices for all leadership seats even if you feel the current leadership may be doing a good job. Unopposed elections, in theory, send a message to incumbents and can lead to complacency.

If you know of anyone who you think would be pro-marine trades, efficient and effective Port Commissioner for one of these positions, please have that conversation today. Civil engagement always makes a difference.

Candidate Filing Week:
Candidates may file for office between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. beginning the first Monday in May and ending the
following Friday with the following Monday being the candidate withdrawal deadline. Please see page 5 for
