Party for Adventuress
Saturday, October 4, 5:30 pm, Seattle

  • Party for Adventuress benefits Sound Experience and youth education programs aboard the historic schooner Adventuress. This fundraiser supports hands-on environmental learning, maritime skill-building, and access to the Salish Sea for young people from all backgrounds.
    • PLACES is Washington’s annual statewide conference focused on the continued care of place through historic preservation, placemaking, and economic vitality, brought to you by the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation and the Department of Archaeology & Historic Preservation.     • Dungeness Crab Festival
      Friday through Sunday, October 10-12, various times, Port Angeles

      • The Dungeness Crab Festival celebrates our region’s rich cultures and heritage, diverse Olympic Coast cuisine, and local environmental initiatives. The festival is centered around the Crab Central Tent known as “The Claw,” which stretches onto Port Angeles City Pier.
    • Crew School
      Wednesday through Friday, October 15-17, 9:00 am-4:00 pm, Gig Harbor

      • The Gig Harbor BoatShop’s Purse Seine Vessel Crew Member Training Program, “Crew School,” will teach basic crew member skills and provide an authentic glimpse of what crewing aboard an Alaskan purse seine commercial fishing vessel is all about.
    • This Is Native Land Opening
      Sunday, October 19, Tacoma

      • A new permanent exhibit at the Washington State History Museum created by more than 100 contributors representing more than 60 Tribes, This Is Native Land invites visitors to understand Washington State through the lived experiences and voices of its Native people.
    • One Ocean Week
      Monday through Sunday, October 20-26, various times, Seattle

      • One Ocean Week Seattle is a region-wide, international gathering to accelerate solutions for a sustainable, inclusive maritime future. Hosted by Washington Maritime Blue, the week will include a visit from the historic tall ship Statsraad Lehmkuhl to raise awareness and share knowledge about the crucial importance of the ocean for a sustainable future on a global scale.
