Wednesday Feb. 16th, 2022, the Port had a little ceremony for the new 75 ton Travel Lift. Commissioner Petranek blessed the new machine with a bottle of beer to the cheers of port staff and crew, County Commissioners, trades people and supporters. This lift is painted with The Port of Port Townsend boldly across the upper side structure as part of the Port’s marketing plans. Every time boaters take pictures of their boats being hauled or launched, our Port’s name will be part of that memorabilia that gets shared. The last 75 ton travel lift was purchased around 1985, working hard for the past 36 years. This purchase marks an investment in the next 30 plus years of our marine trades.
