Wooden Boat Festival for the PTMTA

Dear Members,

We need volunteers for this year’s Wooden Boat Festival September 9, 10, 11. Set up, engagement with visitors, and final day tent break down are the main activities. Display business materials, brochure and business cards.

Additionally, the Woodenboat Foundation would love for our booth to be interactive with samples, examples, mini demonstrations, etc., for skills used daily in the marine trades. This is a good way for us to inspire both youth and people considering career changes to join our workforce and make our industry stronger and more sustainable.

Our booth will build awareness for newer residents to better understand the relevance and value the marine trades bring to Port Townsend and Jefferson County.

The PTMTA will have a 10×10 booth. Set up is on the 8th. Marine Trades participation at our local festival is one way we keep it local so please claim your part in the spirit it was first started. (A “history lesson” coming next week)

Please reach out to Pat Mahon to learn more about how you can participate.

You can also contact Peter Stein at his shop in the port.

Additionally, if you have an idea for a demonstration of your skills or a presentation (see online application), or contact Barb Trailer at the NWMC.
