Save Family Farming, a non-profit organization, is seeking to petition the state Department of Ecology and Governor Inslee to uphold the protections built into the Climate Commitment Act for local fishing and farming families, and all those who provide food and grow it for Washingtonians.Food producers and growers were initially set to be exempt from part of the taxation prescribed by the act, and the organization would like to get signatures for a petition to ensure that local fishing and farming families are not caught in the netting of this taxation.
