Photos of our marine trades people and the work you do are incredibly powerful tools in the working waterfront toolbox. Not only do they promote you and your business, photographs in the public arena inspire, educate, and strengthen the industry which they represent. Have you not studied some of the historical images of Port Townsend and felt totally drawn in? Have you not had fun identifying people in Joni Blanchard’s photo boards?
The PTMTA uses photos of our marine tradespeople plying their trade to create public awareness about the importance of our industry economically and culturally. Sometimes we are asked to help other local organizations do the same.
We need more images to faithfully represent you all.
If you have pictures to share, we will credit the photographer. If you don’t have pictures and would like some but don’t have the budget to hire a professional photographer, please let us know.
There some amazing professional photographers in our community and we would recommend contacting them first, but there are also hobby photographers among us. Even a colleague with a newer iPhone can take some impressive images. There are so many applications for photos from websites to posters to enhancing the historical record.
Please share your favorite images by sending them to ptmarinetrades@gmail.com. Also contact us if you want pictures taken of you at work.
