In preparation for the PTMTA 2024 Board of Trustees election to be held at the Annual General Membership Meeting on November 2nd, our members have been seeking nominees for the 6 seats opening up at the end of this year. There is still time to nominate yourself or a colleague. Our Board of Trustees should have all 9 seats filled. At this time, we are one seat short.
The current list of nominees for the coming 2 years are:
- Melanya Nordstrom representing the PT Shipwright’s Coop. Melanya is completing 2 years on the board serving as our Treasurer. She looks forward to serving another term in a different capacity.
- Ian Weedman representing Brion Toss Rigging. Ian is also seeking a second term in hopes of expanding our Lifeboat Fund.
- Jeremy Lala representing SEA Marine is seeking a second term.
- Pete Langley representing PT Foundry is seeking another term. He has served on the board for many years and for the last 2 as our chairman.
- Our new nominee is Lou Geraghty (he/them) representing Horus Horizon Marine. Lou is an independent in Boat Haven who recently secured a shop lease in the former Moderate Waste building.
Board members completing their first year and continuing through 2024 are:
- Carrie Fiore representing ACI BOATS
- Dave Thompson representing Thompson Boats
- Pat Mahon representing Patrick J. Mahon Marine Surveys
That totals 8 seats. Who will take SEAT 9????
Please do not hesitate to ask questions or nominate yourself. It would be amazing to have more nominees than seats. Business owners can delegate an employee or partner to be their representative. The only members not permitted are those working under the 501C3 rules. Because the same have to remain apolitical, and the PTMTA as a 501C6 is inherently political, there would be a conflict when votes are required. Otherwise, the field is open! Please step forward and join the fun!
