Hi Everyone,On two separate occasions last month two Board members of the PTMTA received phishing emails asking the recipient to please send funding by electronic form. These phishing emails came from unknown email accounts and pretended to be Board members, using our first and last names. Thankfully we recognized that these emails were scammers and did not respond. If you receive suspicious emails from a sender pretending to be a PTMTA Board or General Member, please do not send them money. We of the PTMTA would never ask Members to send money this way, especially out of context. The PTMTA has changed their email password and will do so regularly to protect our Membership. If you think you have received one of these emails, please email us at this address with the content of the email.Thank you and be safe out there,Lou GeraghtyPresident
Learn to recognize scam emails. If anything seems odd, it probably is not legitimate. Note the sender emails. They would not be the same as in your contacts. The language may be poor English or simply vague on details.
