Intersection Paving at Boat Haven June 8-9 and June 10-11, 2026
By Port of Port Townsend on Jun 05, 2026 04:22 pm
Grading work will be taking place at Boat Haven at the intersection of Washington Street and Boat Street on Monday and Tuesday, June 8 and 9 to prepare for asphalt paving on Wednesday and Thursday June 10 and 11. The intersection paving is a component of the new stormwater treatment system project that began construction last year.
During construction, traffic in the area will be managed according to the contractor’s traffic control. Also, the intersection of Washington Street and Boat Street, which is adjacent to the Boat Haven 300-ton lift-pier, will be temporarily closed and will likely remain closed through the weekend to allow time for the asphalt to be fully cool and harden. Some of the adjacent parking will also be closed and unavailable to accommodate paving. Drivers and pedestrians are asked to use caution, follow all posted signage to ensure safety and minimize disruption.
The Port of Port Townsend appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during this important infrastructure improvement.
